Anything On Paper

Hi I'm Faye, and I like doodling.

This blog is for sharing my doodles, sketches and journal entries on my moleskine.

Oh, I ramble about music, travel, home improvement and food too.

Let’s think of this as starting over. I’ve been intermittently blogging since 2002 because there are times when I don’t have the words to write, so I don’t. There are also times when I write not online but in my private journal. Lately I’ve been just too busy with work that I don’t have time to do any introspection. It was just work work work and voila, the day is almost over and I’m to tired to even turn on let alone look at my laptop.

Anyway, this tumblr account contains mostly photos both borrowed and my own and i thought I’d jut put it more words in it to continue my slightly dysfunctional love affair with words.

Dear Old Blog, I will take a break from you for the meantime. I feel that you’ve been carrying too much information about me it seems like I’ve been putting all of my eggs in your basket. You know my heartaches and kilig moments and I think it’s unfair for my other existing blogs to know the same things as you do. Please let anythingonpaper take the spotlight for now. You’re still my first and I’m sure as hell won’t forget to go back to fill you in on some updates.

What I did today:

1. Wake up late

Woke up at almost 1 PM today and as embarrassing as it may sound, I am not guilty. Been working hard all week and I deserved to sleep in til my body tells me to wake up without the aid of an alarm clock.

2. Cleaned my room

It was long overdue. I needed to tidy up a bit because the pile of books, notebooks, magazines and cameras on top of them all which I had in my bedside were about to fall like UNO stackos. I had to sort out my boxes of random stuff accumulated through the years mainly because of consumerism and sentimentality. I realized I’ve been buying a lot of stuff that I hardly even use and I’ve been keeping some things that had meant something to me in the past but have been taking up too much space in my tiny tiny drawers, it’s starting to get impractical. Apparently, I loved taking home brochures and maps of places that I’ve been to. I kept them still and had the idea of using them for something creative. I also managed to unearth some old photos, trinkets from past travels, letters from friends and previous flings/boyfriends, and even payslips from years ago. Omg I started laughing at the fact that I earned waaaay less than half of what I make today and at the same time, I felt grateful that my hard work has paid off after all. I found the clean up process a bit tedious, but someone has to do it. At least something productive came out the whole endeavor: I threw all the pictures of my exes away. After all, what’s there to be sentimental about? :)

Didn't realize I like buying purple stuff

3. Jumped

Yes, that’s right. I did a lot of jumping today in my hopes to compensate for my lack of exercise. I had been planning to run at least 5k today but didn’t because it’s been raining all afternoon. It would’ve been nice to run in the rain but the idea of squishy trainers isn’t too appealing. So I just randomly hopped and skipped from one room to another while I was putting some things in their proper places (books on the shelves, magazines in their racks, scarves in the drawer, etc.) while I was still cleaning my room. I read that fidgeting and moving more even if you’re not exercising still counts for lost calories and I’m hoping I used up enough calories today to burn that blasted cupcake my sister baked this afternoon.

Okay that’s enough words for today :)
